I’ve written about Surfable on here before. Last week we had the annual surfing event at Bigbury – photo diary below. It was, as always, a fabulous day. I can’t really describe how much fun it is to see your child doing such a great activity. The surfers themselves often don’t have much experience with learning disabilities but this doesn’t seem to matter. I tell them every year to throw Archie around as necessary, they do and he loves it. The only problem we had this year was persuading him that his session had finished. It’s run in conjunction with Lifeworks who have a lot of experience with learning disabilities and ensure the day is set up and run in a way that works.
Both great charities that make a real difference and it’s now possible to surf all year round with Discovery Surf School through their association with Lifeworks. We’re planning to go regularly.
